Flowers At The Jug
|
Originally the Jug Tavern, built about 1760, was a way station on the Albany Post Road. Sparta, a small neighborhood of about a dozen acres bordered by the Hudson River, is the earliest settlement that remains intact in the Town of Ossining. One of Sparta's qualities almost unique among historic neighborhoods is that the score of buildings most worthy of note stand today where they were built more than a century and a half ago. |
